black-woman-naked-bath-tubI drink a lot of coffee so I have a lot of coffee grounds. I mainly throw them in the trash or put them down the drain. But lately, I have been thinking about using them for a little self-care time. I always see DIY uses for coffee grounds on Pinterest. So, I decided to look at a few different ways to use coffee grounds for health and beauty.

Coffee scrub– Coffee scrubbed is so beneficial to the skin. One of the main benefits of coffee scrubs is antioxidants, which helps with anti-aging. Other benefits also help with anti-inflammatory, skin texture, aromatherapy and increase blood flow. To make your own coffee scrub see blow.

• 1 part coffee ground
• 1 part coconut oil
Mix until it gives you a paste texture. After washing up gently rub scrub all over your body and rinse off.

 
Coffee mask- There are several different coffee masks on Pinterest. But the one that caught my attention was the coffee, yogurt, and honey mask. Each ingredient brings a different benefit to your skin. Yogurt helps to tone the skin, while honey helps to moisturize the skin.

• 1 tablespoon of honey
• 1 tablespoon of coffee grounds
• 1 tablespoon of yogurt.
Mix together in a bowl and apply to a clean face. Leave mask on your face for 20 minutes. Then rinse off and moisturize.

 

Cellulite scrub- coffee can help reduce cellulite on your thighs.

• Coffee grinds
• Epson salt
• Coconut oil
• Plastic wrap
Combined ingredients In a bowl. Then apply the mixture on your thighs. Wrap thighs with plastic wrap and sit for 30 minutes.

 

Dark circles around your eyes– place coffee grinds under your eye for 10 to 15 minutes. then wash face using your normal routine. Dark circle and bags will disappear. I personally have never tried this but I always have bags under my eyes so I will be trying this tonight. Also because I ran out of concealer to cover up my bags.coffee

 

 

 

 

 

I think I’ll spend this weekend trying out a few of these self-care tricks. Taking time out to pamper ourselves is a must. Please try them and let me know what you think.
