I am really looking forward to 2018. I am going to work really hard to post every week. I am going to do a better job of keeping you all updated on my progress of the coffee shop. I have a hard time posting things about the business at the time because I don’t want to speak about something and then it doesn’t happen when I want it too. But I am working on being more transparent with this process because I am hoping that it will help someone else to follow their dream and step out their comfort zone. It also helps me to get out my comfort zone so I will push myself to do it weekly. I do have some bad news, I have not had good coffee since 2017. It has been so cold and I have been dreading going to any coffee shops. But I did go to this place in Historic Ellicott city that was really good.
On Main Street Ellicott City, there is this cute coffee shop called Bean Hollow. I had been looking for a new coffee shop that wasn’t too far from my house and found this place on google. One weekend I and Erin were supposed to go to a coffee shop but we didn’t. So after work and school, I decided that we will go to Bean Hollow. It took us less than 10 min to get there from the Catonsville area. This was my first time on the main street since they had that really bad flooding. The business owners and the homeowner did a really good job of rebuilding the area back up like and keeping its historic charm. I road past it the first time because I didn’t know where it was and I couldn’t find parking. But when I turned around there was parking on the side of the building. When we walked in it has an old charm about it. I order a Guatemalan coffee, Hot chocolate, and a donut. I like that they had kids hot chocolate and they made it warm instead of steaming hot. So, Erin was able to drink her Hot chocolate right away. The Guatemalan coffee that I ordered was really good. It had a fruity taste to it but it was still strong like I like. The Staff was really friendly also. My phone died after a few minutes of being there and I took that time to journal while Erin was making pictures on her paper that she had.
It was a few things that stuck out to me. Like the mugs in the picture above. I thought they were really cute. The other thing that stuck out to me was that they store their coffee is these old coffee dispensers. I loved it the old-time look of this place. But one of the coffees really stuck out to me. There was a Jamaican coffee bean that is $54 a pound. I am so intrigued to see what it taste like, but not enough to buy it. Also, they roast their coffee right in the middle of the dining area. The second time I went there was right After I dropped Erin off at school one morning. The smell of roasted coffee hit me before the door opened. I was able to watch the coffee being roasted. And if you follow my Instagram page I posted on my insta-story. I love going to places and seeing them cook the food so, to watch them roast coffee was cool. I like this place and will go back again If you are in the are a you should check it out. 8059 Main St. Ellicott City, MD 21043.
Stay warm guys and drink lots of Coffee!
